Are you moving to Richmond, Virginia and need help exploring? Try hiking at PUMP HOUSE PARK- Richmond, Virginia (Carillon)
A little about me… I’m a realtor in Richmond Virginia who specializes in helping those relocating or moving to the area find a home! Why? I relocated here years ago and wish I had someone to help guide me around town so I want to be that person for you!
LET’S BEGIN!
For starters, here’s a little background of Pump House Park:
Also known as the Byrd Park Pump House, Pump House Park is a historic pumping station located in the Byrd Park area of Richmond, Virginia. It is no longer in use, but provides access to some great walking and hiking trails. (If you want to see the interior, go HERE for a photo tour!)
This Richmond Park offers both shaded and full sun trails so you can take your pick!
Continue through the hilly/ wooded trails and get to where people camp, which I wasn’t aware of!
When you get to Pump House, veer to the right for easier, more flat trails. (There is plenty of street parking here so don’t worry about that!)
If you end up getting hungry at the end of your hike, head back to the car and amazing food is just a couple minutes away in Carytown! I will touch more on the nearby food in another post!
Pro Tip: If you have young children, some areas are not stroller friendly and there are water areas without fencing so you’ll want to be careful!
