From one transplant to another

I tried these restaurants so you don’t have to!
Just kidding.
I’ve reviewed Richmond Magazines, “The Restaurant List” and I can confidently say that the ones I tried were fantastic!
If you are moving to Richmond Virginia, I highly recommend eating at the following restaurants:
Serving modern Mexican cuisine, their drinks and food are to die for! On the fanciness scale, they are in the middle- not fine dining, but not quite a fast casual where you can wear sweatpants to grab a bite.
When I go there, I always get sangria and tacos. If you are a dessert person, their ice cream is a must try!
Pro tip: They have indoor and outdoor seating and are child-friendly
Located downtown, Perlys is a jewish deli that serves everything you can imagine from a Hot Dog with a fried rye pickle and egg salad to a simple reuben. They have a very popular brunch so get their early!
Whats my favorite item? The cheese blintz!
Pro tip: meander around down town to walk off that meal!
A columbian restaurant in Midlothian and the west end. It’s a full-service restaurant of South American cuisine, from snacky buñuelos — crispy cassava flour and cheese balls — to empanadas, creamy and spicy salsas, and fritters!
I highly recommend going for a coffee and pastry. Both have fantastic flavors and aren’t going to give you a sweet tooth!
Lehja is an indian restaurant in Short Pump that has both a fantastic food and wine menu. They offer your standard dishes like butter chicken and palak paneer to dishes using blue crab, duck confit and ghost pepper! With the extensive wine list, you can easily spend a lot of time here so dont expect to be in and out in 30 min!
They have both indoor and outdoor seating and every time I go there, the service is fast and the employees are very helpful when you dont know which dish to get!
